Comic Relief films at Kicoshep

May 2007: Comic Relief visited the Kicoshep Primary School with four children and their teachers from Sir John Lawes School. The collaberation between the English and Kenyan children was used to highlight the importance of education to all children from all walks of life.

As well as creating many of the photographs you see on this website, the Kicoshep children proved their skills on both sides of the camera, appearing in the Join Up video.

Welcome to Kicoshep-K

KICOSHEP-K, Kibera Integrated Community Self-Help Programme - Kenya, was founded in a sparse dingy clinic at the shanty settlement of Kibera in 1991. The majority of patients were diagnosed with HIV/AIDS related ailments, revealing the impact and spread of HIV/AIDS within the Kibera community and confirming the recent discovery that Kibera slum records the highest HIV/AIDS prevalence rates in Nairobi.

The growing concern surrounding the overwhelming burden developing as a result of the AIDS pandemic shaped KICOSHEP’s Vision and Mission:
